The ARC-111, American Legion Post 111 Oxford Alabama Amateur Radio Club is an organization consisting of American Legion Post 111 Oxford Alabama Members with an interest in Amateur Radio.
Five major objectives guide ARC-111 and support their mission of advancing the art and knowledge of Amateur Radio among Veterans:
1. To promote Amateur Radio and Electronics.
2. To promote good relationships between American Legion Members who are licensed Amateur Radio Operators and the public through Public Service activities.
3. To help assist people in obtaining an FCC Amateur Radio License and encouraging currently licensed operators to upgrade.
4. To participate in activities involving Amateur Radio and Post 111.
5. To be prepared to respond in cases of declared Emergencies or Disasters, and to offer Amateur Radio Communications where necessary in support of our local Community.
ARC-111 holds the "One-Eleven" Net, an informal Net, each Thursday Night at 7PM on the frequency of 147.090+ PL Tone 131.8 courtesy of the Calhoun County Amateur Radio Association - Wb4gna. This Net also serves as a #BuddyCheck for those #Veterans who are out there as well as to share information about the activities of Post 111 and more.
ALL licensed Amateur Radio Operators are encouraged to CHECK IN!
